The Pinellas Weavers' Guild was formed in 1946 for the purpose of continuing the art of handweaving and other fiber arts, and preserving them for future generations. Currently meeting monthly from September through May, the Guild sponsors workshops during which nationally and internationally recognized instructors come to teach. Members also conduct mini-workshops to share their areas of expertise. In addition to handweaving, the Guild sponsors groups studying spinning, dyeing, bobbin lace, kumihimo and other related fields such as beadwork. The Calendar page contains the dates for upcoming meetings and events.

FUTURE EVENTS

The Handweavers' Guild of America will be holding its 2008 Convention righ here in Tampa, Florida!
PWG and all of the Florida guilds are busy working on projects to help make this a memorable experience for everyone involved.
The Conference will afford an excellent opportunity for new and long time weavers/craftsmen to meet together with Worldwide talents.
Use our link to HGA for more information.

GUILD SALES

A year-round guild sales activity is the weaving and sale of rag rugs made by our demonstrators in the Fiber Arts House at Heritage Village, Largo. These rugs are so beautiful and desirable that as soon as they are removed from the weaving loom, they are sold. An outstanding group of members design, prepare the warp and rags, weave, and finish the rugs.
